The cleaning programme of your IMPRESSA Z5 Gen. II can be started at any time in two ways:
When COFFEE READY / CLEAN is displayed, briefly press the maintenance button. CLEANING TIME 20 MIN / START YES appears. Press the maintenance button again. TRAY / GROUNDS EMPTY appears. Follow the instructions on the display.
When COFFEE READY is displayed, press the Rotary Switch until an acoustic signal sounds and MAINTENANCE appears. Press the Rotary Switch to enter the programme item. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING appears. Now turn the rotary switch until MACHINE CLEAN is displayed. Press the Rotary Switch again. CLEANING TIME 20 MIN / START YES appears. Press the maintenance button and follow the instructions on the display.
Do not switch off your IMPRESSA Z5 Gen. II to start the descaling programme.
The descaling programme of your IMPRESSA Z5 can be started at any time in two ways:
When COFFEE READY / DESCALE is displayed, briefly press the maintenance button. DECALCIFYING TIME 45 MIN / START YES is displayed. Press the maintenance button again. TRAY / GROUNDS EMPTY appears. Now follow the instructions on the display.
When COFFEE READY is displayed, press the Rotary Switch until MAINTENANCE is displayed. Press the Rotary Switch to enter the programme item. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING appears. Turn the Rotary Switch until MACHINE IS DECALCIFYING lights up. Press the Rotary Switch again. DECALCIFYING TIME 45 MIN / START YES now appears. Press the maintenance button and follow the instructions on the display.
If MACHINE IS DECALCIFYING remains displayed for a long time, this means the descaling programme was started with too much liquid or water was replenished before the tank was empty.
If COFFEE READY / DESCALE is displayed even though the CLARIS filter cartridge has been inserted, this means the filter was not activated in programming mode.
The filter change programme of your IMPRESSA Z5 Gen. II can be started at any time in two ways:
When COFFEE READY / FILTER CHANGE is displayed, briefly press the maintenance button. CHANGE TIME 2 MIN / START YES appears. Press the maintenance button. INSERT FILTER / PRESS BUTTON appears on the display. Insert a new filter and turn the selector switch on the cappuccino frother to the Steam position n . Press the maintenance button again briefly. Your IMPRESSA Z5 Gen. II will now start to rinse the filter: FILTER RINSE.
When COFFEE READY is displayed, press the Rotary Switch until MAINTENANCE appears. Press the Rotary Switch to enter the programme item. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING appears. Now turn the Rotary Switch until FILTER CHANGE is displayed. Press the Rotary Switch again. CHANGE TIME 2 MIN / START YES appears. Briefly press the maintenance button and follow the instructions on the display.
If the Easy Cappuccino frother / fine foam frother is to fulfil your coffee dreams, it needs to be cleaned regularly.
If the Professional Cappuccino Frother / Professional fine foam frother is to fulfil your coffee dreams, it needs to be cleaned regularly.
Coffee taste: Are you dissatisfied with the coffee taste? A poor coffee taste may be due to the following possible causes:
Coffee temperature: Is your coffee not hot enough? A coffee temperature that is too low may be due to the following possible causes:
If the milk is not frothed, this means the cappuccino frother / fine foam frother is blocked. Remove the frother and clean it thoroughly.
Please note that the nozzle always has to be cleaned well after preparing (frothing) milk.
MACHINE DESCALE appears despite the CLARIS filter cartridge being used.
The CLARIS filter cartridge was inserted but the machine was not programmed accordingly.
MACHINE IS DECALCIFYING is displayed for a long time.
The descaling programme was started with too much liquid or fresh water was replenished too soon. All the water in the water tank must be sucked out during the descaling programme.
FILL SYSTEM / PRESS STEAM are displayed alternately.
There is no water in the system (e.g. after a repair), or the water tank and/or the CLARIS filter cartridge were not correctly inserted.
COFFEE READY is displayed but the coffee does not taste good.
The descaling programme has been run with a CLARIS filter cartridge inserted without the machine being programmed for using the filter.
To ensure that your IMPRESSA or ENA produces top-quality coffee and functions correctly, the machine should be cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. You should proceed as follows:
To ensure that your machine provides satisfaction for a long time and to avoid repairs, please note that the grinder on your JURA coffee machine is not suitable for coffee beans that have been treated with additives (e. g. sugar) during or after roasting.
Use of such coffee mixtures can result in damage to the grinder. Any repair costs incurred as a result are not covered by the warranty provisions.
