2012-11-28 - Stiftung Warentest puts 14 coffee machines through their paces

Niederbuchsiten, 28 November 2012 – "It's quick, economical, easy to use, brews the perfect flavoursome espresso and makes fine milk foam," says consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest in the December 2012 issue of "test". The independent product testers gave JURA's ENA Micro 9 One Touch an overall score of "good" (2.1) - the best mark out of all 14 machines tested.

The quickest way to make a cappuccino or latte macchiato is at the touch of a button. JURA calls this technology "One Touch". In the December 2012 edition of "test", Stiftung Warentest put nine of these models through their paces. The result? "The best-performing model was the JURA ENA Micro 9 One Touch." JURA's smallest one-touch model notched up the best individual scores for technical assessment and environmental performance – 1.9 in both categories. The compact entry-level model was also highly rated for safety and sensory evaluation of espresso and milk foam quality, with a score of 2.0.

The test also included an evaluation of the machine's user-friendliness, including the instruction manual, the preparation process and daily maintenance, and cleaning and descaling. In these categories the ENA Micro 9 One Touch was rated "very good" or "good".

Stiftung Warentest was also impressed by the result in the cup. All of the drinks prepared with the ENA Micro 9 One Touch − from espresso to cappuccino and latte macchiato − impressed the test panel with the quality of the crema, flavour, aroma and mouthfeel. The machine's slimline design, integrated brewing unit and text display were also rated positively.
