Is it normal for water to run into the drip tray every time that coffee has been dispensed?
Yes, after each occasion on which coffee is dispensed, the residual water is conveyed into the drip tray via a special valve.
To ensure that your IMPRESSA or ENA produces top-quality coffee and functions correctly, the machine should be cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. You should proceed as follows:
To ensure that your machine provides satisfaction for a long time and to avoid repairs, please note that the grinder on your JURA coffee machine is not suitable for coffee beans that have been treated with additives (e. g. sugar) during or after roasting.
Use of such coffee mixtures can result in damage to the grinder. Any repair costs incurred as a result are not covered by the warranty provisions.
The cleaning programme for your IMPRESSA E65 can be started in either of two ways:
If the "cleaning"symbol flashes, press the Maintenance key and hold it down until the "empty tray" symbol is displayed.
If the "coffee ready" symbol lights up, press the Maintenance key and hold it down until the "empty tray" symbol is displayed.
To start the de-scaling programme, the machine must not be switched on.
The de-scaling programme for your IMPRESSA E65 can be started at any time with or without symbol prompt.
Switch your machine off and leave it to call down for 2h. The press the Maintenance key and hold it down until the "empty grounds container" symbol lights up.
If the machine continues de-scaling for an extended period, the de-scaling programme was started with too much liquid or the water was replenished before the tank was empty.
If the "machine scaled" symbol lights up even though the CLARIS filter has been inserted, the filter was not programmed.
The filter change programme can be started at any time in either of two ways:
If the "coffee ready" symbol lights up in the display and the "replace filter" symbol flashes, switch your IMPRESSA E65 off and hold the Maintenance key down until the "replace filter" and "open tap" symbols light up. Insert a new filter and turn the rotary knob from "Coffee" to "Steam". The machine now begins to rinse the filter.

Are you unhappy with the taste of the coffee? If the coffee tastes unpleasant, this could be due to any of the following reasons:

Is your coffee not hot enough? The following are some commonly found reasons why the coffee might not be hot enough:
If the milk does not go frothy, the frother is blocked. Remove the frother and clean it thoroughly.
"open tap" symbol appears: System is empty after steam has been drawn off or after a repair.
"general troubles" symbols: It is not possible to dispense coffee any more.
"empty grounds container / drip tray missing" symbol: Coffee grounds container is full or drip tray is missing.
"replace filter“ symbol: CLARIS filter cartridge needs to be replaced.
MACHINE SCALED lights up although the CLARIS filter cartridge is in use.
MACHINE DE-SCALING appears for an extended period.
COFFEE READY is displayed, but the coffee smells unpleasant.
